Pricing & Billing
How does Blue's pricing work?
You pay once for a plan and get ongoing access at that plan's limits. No monthly fees, no annual fees, no per-user charges. Your plan determines scale (users, workspaces, storage, records), and you can upgrade at any time by paying the difference. Pro is an optional $500/year subscription that unlocks advanced features on top of any plan.
What does "one-time" really mean? Are there hidden fees?
You pay once and get permanent access at the tier you bought. No per-seat fees, no auto-renew on your tier. The only optional extra is Pro (advanced features, paid annually) and you never have to buy it.
Are there any recurring fees?
Your plan purchase is a one-time payment. The only optional recurring cost is Pro ($500/year), which adds advanced features on top of any plan. To keep the platform financially sustainable long-term, Blue reserves the right to introduce a small annual platform maintenance fee (up to $50/year per organization) as a safety valve. It is not part of the current pricing. Organizations on Pro are exempt because Pro includes platform maintenance. If the fee ever applies, you will receive at least 90 days' advance notice and a 90-day export window to download all of your data. See our billing documentation and terms for full details.
Are there per-user fees?
No. Your tier sets a user cap (5 / 30 / 150). Within that cap, all roles, including owners, admins, members, clients, and view-only users, are included.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use Stripe for secure payments and accept all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
Plans & Limits
When would I need to upgrade tiers?
When you hit a limit: more users, more records, more storage. Upgrade anytime by paying the difference. Your data and settings stay put.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes. You can upgrade from Starter to Growth or Scale at any time by paying the price difference. Your data, workspaces, and settings are preserved.
Do all user roles count against the user limit?
Yes. All roles, including owners, admins, members, clients, and view-only users, count toward your plan's user limit.
What if I need more than 150 users?
Contact us for an Enterprise plan. We'll build a custom package with dedicated infrastructure, a dedicated account manager, and limits tailored to your organization.
Pro Add-on
What is the Pro add-on?
Pro is a $500/year add-on that unlocks advanced features on top of any plan: 500,000 records per workspace, 500 custom fields, record-level permissions, saved views, scheduled automations, reports, white label, and more. Pro also multiplies your plan's workspaces 5x and automations per month 10x.
Is white-label included?
White-label (custom domain + branding) is part of the Pro add-on, not the base tiers. With Pro you can serve Blue from your own subdomain via a single CNAME, customize the logo, favicon, app name, and primary color, and send email from your own SMTP server. The desktop and mobile apps white-label automatically too.
Product & Features
What views does Blue offer to visualize work?
The same records can be shown as a Kanban board, a calendar, a database grid, a timeline / Gantt chart, or a map. Switch views freely without duplicating any data.
Can I build dashboards across workspaces?
Yes. Dashboards pull real-time data from multiple workspaces into stat cards, bar graphs, and pie charts, with interactive cross-filtering, drag-and-drop layout, and shareable links.
Does Blue have built-in chat and documents?
Yes. Every workspace has topic-based chat (rich text, file uploads, @mentions, reactions) and collaborative documents with real-time co-editing. Chat is organized by topic within a workspace, not direct messages between individuals.
Does Blue have AI features?
Yes. AI Summaries condense long comment threads on a record into a short summary and an action list. An organization administrator turns it on in settings.
Integrations & Automation
Does Blue have an API?
Yes. Blue has a fully documented GraphQL API with 100% coverage. Anything you can do in the app, you can do programmatically, authenticated with a personal access token, and there is a full query playground to test against.
Does Blue work with Zapier, Make, and n8n?
Yes, all three, via native integrations or Blue's public API and webhooks. Webhooks fire within milliseconds on record create/update/delete, field changes, checklist updates, comments, and more.
Can I connect Blue to AI assistants like Claude or Cursor?
Yes, over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Point Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or another MCP-compatible client at https://mcp.blue.app/mcp to list records, create tasks, manage checklists, and query your workspaces directly from your assistant.
Is there a command-line tool?
Yes. Blue has an open-source CLI (install via Homebrew, Scoop, or go install) for managing workspaces, records, lists, and automations from your terminal, including scripting, bulk operations, and CI/CD.
Can I sync Blue with my calendar?
Yes. Subscribe to your Blue dates from Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar using a sync URL. It's one-way: changes you make in Blue flow through to your calendar.
Apps & Platforms
Does Blue work on mobile?
Yes. Blue has native iOS and Android apps, with the iOS app optimized for iPad. The web app also runs in any modern browser.
Is there a desktop app?
Yes. Install Blue as a desktop app from any Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, and others) using the install icon in the address bar. You get a Dock or desktop shortcut and native desktop notifications.
Security & Compliance
Where is my data hosted?
Entirely in the European Union. Application servers, databases, file attachments, backups, and analytics all run on EU infrastructure. Your data stays within the EU.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. Your data is encrypted at rest, and all traffic to and from Blue is encrypted in transit over TLS.
Is Blue GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Keeping all personal data within the EU simplifies GDPR compliance and avoids cross-border transfer mechanisms. You can exercise your access, correction, deletion, portability, and restriction rights by emailing manny@blue.app with the subject line "GDPR Request".
Is Blue HIPAA-compliant? Can it handle healthcare data?
Blue can act as a HIPAA Business Associate. A signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) must be in place before any Protected Health Information (PHI) is stored. See our BAA and HIPAA pages, or contact us to put one in place.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. Automated, encrypted backups run regularly and are stored offsite, all within the EU, with point-in-time recovery.

Who builds Blue?
Blue is built by Manny, its founder and sole owner. He holds 100% of the company, with no investors and no board. He's been building Blue full-time for 8 years, and it's been profitable and customer-funded since 2018. He has served as a Senior Product Manager in the Executive Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York. He still writes code, ships features, and answers support email himself at manny@blue.app.
How can you offer this when ClickUp and Monday can't?
They can't because their investors won't let them. Blue has been profitable, debt-free, and customer-funded since 2018. No VC, no growth-at-all-costs targets, no quarterly earnings calls. Our cost structure makes a one-time price work. Theirs doesn't.
What happens if Blue goes out of business?
Your data is exportable as CSV any time. Blue is privately held, profitable, debt-free, and has been running since 2018. We publish our roadmap and changelog publicly so you can see we're shipping.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Your data is always yours. Export your records and their fields to CSV from any workspace, any time, with no lock-in and no support ticket required. If you ever decide to leave, you take everything with you.
Getting Started
Is there a free trial?
No. Instead, every purchase comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Self-serve refund in your billing settings, no questions asked. We think trying it for real beats poking around a sandbox.
How do I sign in?
However you like: a 4-digit one-time code or a magic link sent to your email, sign-in with Google or Microsoft, or a password if you set one.
Can I import my data from another tool?
Yes. Import from CSV, up to 1,000,000 records at a time (around 10,000-15,000 per minute), with a preview, a field-mapping step, and a downloadable template that matches your custom fields. Email us if you want help with a larger migration.
How is Blue organized?
Organizations contain workspaces; each workspace holds lists (the stages of your process); lists hold records (your individual items, like a customer, task, or deal). Records carry default fields plus any custom fields you add.
What support is included?
It scales with your plan: community forum + docs on Starter, email support on Growth and Scale, priority engineering support on Pro, and a dedicated account manager with custom training on Enterprise.
