Organisation Administrator
The Organisation Administrator, or Organization Owner, is a special user role in Blue.
As the organization owner in Blue, you have a special admin role that gives you additional privileges and responsibilities across your entire organization. You have full control and oversight over the following areas:
Organization Settings
To edit the core organization settings, navigate to your organization’s settings page.
Here you can update:
- Name: The name of your organization
- URL: The URL slug that users access, e.g. blue.app/org/blue
- Image: The organization image displayed in the sidebar and across the platform
- Color: The theme color for your organization — Blue, Cyan, Indigo, Green, Amber, Red, Purple, Pink, Orange, or Black
- Appearance: Options for Bold Top Bar and Bold Sidebar to apply the theme color to the header or sidebar
- Workspace Terminology: Customize what “workspace” is called across your organization (e.g. “project”, “board”)
- Map Settings: Enable or disable the organization map
- AI Features: Enable or disable AI summarization and AI tagging
- Delete Organization: Permanently delete the organization and all its data (requires email verification)
User Management
Remove Users If someone leaves your organization, you can fully remove them from the organisation by going to organisation settings and selecting the People tab.
Their access will be revoked. All their comments and files will still be visible across the workspaces. A confirmation prompt is shown before removing a member, so you will not accidentally remove them.
Manage Administrator Roles Organisation administrators can promote other members to administrator, or step a current administrator down to a regular role. Open the People tab, click the role on any member’s row, and pick the new role from the menu. The change applies immediately and the affected member’s access updates across the whole organisation. There must always be at least one administrator — Blue prevents the last admin from being demoted.
View Workspace Memberships Open a member’s profile to see every workspace in the organisation they belong to, along with their access level (or custom role name) in each and the date they joined. The list is read-only and excludes archived and template workspaces. As the organisation owner you can view this for any member; members can always see their own workspace memberships on their profile.
Billing & Plans
You have exclusive access to billing as the organization admin. Under your organization settings, select Billing to manage your tier, Pro add-on, and payment details.
Specific functions include:
- View current tier and usage against your limits
- Upgrade to a higher tier (pay the difference, one-time)
- Add the Pro yearly add-on to unlock advanced features
- Update payment details
- View and download invoices
- Cancel the Pro subscription (tier purchases are one-time and non-cancelable)
