Analytics
Use dashboards and reports to analyze records across multiple workspaces.
Analytics combines dashboards and reports in one organization-level area. Use dashboards for visual summaries and reports for read-only record tables.
Select Analytics in the organization sidebar. Use the Dashboards or Reports filter to show one type.
Reports require Pro or Enterprise. On other plans, the Reports filter shows an upgrade option.
Choose an analytics view
- Dashboards show charts and statistic cards across workspaces. Use a dashboard for visual summaries.
- Reports show read-only rows across workspaces. Use a report to review, filter, summarize, share, or export records.
- Views show editable records in one workspace. Use a view for daily record work.
Chart types
Blue supports these chart types:
- Stat cards show calculated values such as total revenue, active issue count, or completion percentage.
- Pie charts show how categories contribute to a total, such as revenue by customer type.
- Bar graphs compare values across categories, such as sales by quarter or inquiries over time. The same chart can also render as a line or area graph.
- Leaderboards rank groups by their exact values, such as open records by assignee.
Sharing
You can share a dashboard with members of the same organization. Assign each member Editor or Viewer permission.
Dashboards do not support public links for people without a Blue account. External sharing is planned for a future release.
To suggest dashboard improvements, use the Blue community forum or email support@blue.app.
Filters
Filter dashboard data by assignee, tag, date, completion status, or advanced custom field conditions. Blue combines lists and tags that have the same name across workspaces.
Dashboard filters are personal. Blue stores them in your browser for this dashboard.
Calendar presets such as Today and This month update when the calendar period changes. Chart CSV exports use the active dashboard filters and resolve a calendar preset when the export starts.
Cross-Filtering
Select a chart segment to filter all other dashboard charts by that segment. A segment can be a bar, a pie slice, or a leaderboard row.
To add a segment, hold Ctrl or Cmd while you select it. Selections in the same field use OR logic. Selections from different fields apply together.
Arrange and display charts
- Drag charts to change their position in the dashboard.
- Select the chart and display options that match the data you need to show.
Duplicate a dashboard
Duplicate a dashboard to create a copy with all its charts. Change the copy when you need a variation of an existing dashboard.
Delete a dashboard
Use the delete action in the dashboard list. The dashboard owner can always delete a dashboard that they created. A shared Editor cannot delete it.
Organization owners and admins can delete any dashboard in the organization. This permission includes dashboards created by other or former members.
Owners and admins can find these dashboards in All organization dashboards, below their own dashboard list. Other roles cannot see this section. Hidden dashboards from former members still count toward the organization’s dashboard limit until an owner or admin deletes them.
Reports
Select Reports in Analytics to open read-only tables. The list includes reports that you own and reports shared with you.
Organization owners and administrators also see All organization reports. This list includes reports created by other members that are not already shown above, including reports left by former members. Use it to find and delete reports that would otherwise be unreachable.
Blue merges custom fields with the same name and type into one report column. Fields with different names or types remain separate.
Report tasks
- Create a report with selected data sources, columns, filters, and summaries.
- Add aggregations for sums, averages, minimums, maximums, or counts.
- Share a report with organization members as editors or viewers.
- Export report records to a CSV file delivered by email.
Report cells are read-only. Select a record title to open the source record. Right-click a row to open the record in a new tab or copy a cell value.
